Executive Flight
Executive Flight, Inc. is a dynamic and growing aviation charter and maintenance business
owned by Carl and Betty Campbell. The company was established in 1982 at Pangborn Airport in
Wenatchee. Executive Flight has strong ties to the Wenatchee Valley and North Central Washington
and we continue to benefit from the region's efficient resources and attractive quality of life.
Our state-of-the-art facility was built with the future in mind and the owner's foresight of this
region's many advantages, efficiencies and the sense of community and responsibility that is
prevalent in our region. Like many companies in North Central Washington, we owe much of our
success to these factors when it comes to growing a business and supporting the people that
are the strength of our organization.

Century Aviation
When Karen Barrow and Mark Smith moved from the Puget Sound region to Wenatchee, they were very
amused to hear their landlord complain about his 10-minute commute. For Barrow and Smith, who
regularly endured a 1.5 hour commute from Everett to Seattle each day, they knew life was going
to be good in their new home.
"We looked all up and down the I-5 corridor, from California to British Columbia, for a location
that had everything we needed to make our business successful" commented Smith. "But we always
found ourselves coming back to the NCW region."
Barrow, who is a licensed pilot with two decades of aircraft restoration experience, and Smith,
who has more than two decades of experience in aircraft restoration and boat building, own and
operate Century Aviation, a company that specializes in museum restorations of antique aircraft.
Century Aviation has established itself as an industry leader, working on projects for Boeing,
the U.S. Air Force Museum, the Smithsonian Institute's Air and Space Museum, the National
Museum of Naval Aviation, Seattle's Museum of Flight and McMinville, Oregon's Evergreen
Aviation Museum.
NCW’s sense of community is very important to Barrow and Smith. "We have found Wenatchee to be a
much better place to do business because of the quality of life here," commented Smith. "People are
concerned about what impact businesses have on the community and care about what other business in
the area contribute. The support we get from local banks, insurers and community members is
incredible. They get excited about projects we work on and take pride in our accomplishments."

Bainbridge Manufacturing
David Soderstrom of Bainbridge Manufacturing, Inc. moved his business to Douglas County because it
offered the lowest electricity rates in the country, high speed Internet access to every business,
many available building sites, some turnkey sites and had the perfect rural environment for him to
continue his operations for many more years.
“Bainbridge Manufacturing, Inc. designs, manufactures, inventories and sells our proprietary line of
cabinet hardware,” says Soderstrom. “I moved my business from Bainbridge Island in Kitsap County,
Washington to Waterville in Douglas County, Washington. We are saving 15% - 20% because of the lower
overhead. We diverted these savings into marketing and advertising and our sales are up 15% - 20%.
We sell 95% of our hardware to domestic cabinetmakers. We brought a payroll of over $1,000,000 per
year to a rural town with a total population of around 1000.”
“My children walk three blocks to school and I can see the beautiful night sky and stars almost
every night. There is no pollution and no noise at night,” Soderstrom says. “Our shipping costs
have been dramatically reduced due to the nature of our products and the competitiveness of the
local shipping companies. Nobody in my family or the families that moved with my company ever
expected to have such a huge increase in our quality of life. Lastly, we have hired our new
crew from the local area and these people have the highest work ethics you can imagine.”
