A cooperative effort exists among public entities that strive to make this a dynamic place to live and do business. A strong business community, made up of a cross-section of industry professionals also supports our labor resources. The collective wisdom and knowledge of these groups is a powerful resource for existing or start-up businesses needing assistance for growth, relocation or solving company problems. Mark Kulaas, Land Service Director ~
“Fast track," "one stop," or other accelerated permitting processes are available for applicable jurisdictions. The permit process for industrial-zoned land in Douglas County is fairly rapid. Most new applicants are approved for construction within 30 to 45 days. In the case where an extensive review package is submitted to the Douglas County Planning Department, the state of Washington allows for the creation of a multi-disciplinary review team that is exclusively dedicated to the permit process for the particular applicant. Both the state and the applicant share the costs for this team. |
